STRIKE OUT STROKE ON MAY 7th, 2015!
On May 7th, 2015, the Minnesota Twins play against the Oakland Athletics at Target Field. As in years past, this game in the month of May brings extra inspiration for those who attend – and participate.
From the Minnesota Stroke Association:
Strike Out Stroke is presented each May during Stroke Awareness Month in partnership with the Minnesota Twins baseball team. At its heart, the event honors stroke survivors from the previous year. The 2015 Strike Out Stroke day will take place on Thursday, May 7.
Area hospitals are invited to bring stroke survivors who are honored at a rally prior to an afternoon Twins game. After a brief address, each hospital presents its patients and says a few words about their journey back from stroke. This is also a time to highlight the work of the Minnesota Stroke Association.
Prior to the game, stroke survivors sing the national anthem. Also, a health professional speaks briefly about stroke, and information on stroke is shown on the stadium’s screen.
We at Noran Clinic are proud that once again, one of our neurologists as well as a stroke specialist for Abbott Northwestern Hospital, will be among those addressing the crowds this year. We hope that you will join us, Dr. Tarrel, and the Minnesota Stroke Association at this year’s Strike Out Stroke Twins game in support of Stroke Awareness, and to honor some phenomenal survivors.
