June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive, degenerative disorder that attacks the brain’s nerve cells, or neurons, resulting in loss of memory, thinking and language skills, and behavioral changes. This June, the Alzheimer’s Association has provided information to further understand the disease that more than 5 million are living with in the United States. To learn more about the disease, the Alzheimer’s Association created a video to increase awareness of the disease and circulate the facts about Alzheimer’s.
You can learn more about the disease on their website, http://alz.org/abam/#AlzShareTheFacts. If you have questions regarding a possible Alzheimer’s diagnosis, please contact Noran Neurological Clinic at 612-879-1500 to schedule an appointment with a neurologist experienced in the diagnosis and management of this disease.
